Rip Roaring Fun at Monster Jam! #Monsterjam
This year for Valentine’s day we decided to head to Monster Jam for an afternoon of high octane fun. Our daughter is a huge Monster Jam fan, we took her a couple years back and she had a blast. Unlike last time, we came prepared with ear protection for all of us so we were set and ready to enjoy the fun.
Last week we looked at all the contestants and picked favorites. I was rooting for Grave Digger®, My husband selected ZombieSM, our daughter was originally cheering for cheering for Scooby-Doo SM but after getting a look at the 18 year old driver for Blue Thunder she changed her pick.
The show was great, it started off with some great Monster Jam Racing followed by fun speedster racing. Since we went on Sunday there were quite a few trucks that appeared to have mechanical issues and parts missing (Zombie was one armed but it was still cool) from the show Saturday night. In one of the first races, NEA lost a major part of his car covering and it was quickly run over in a show of rivalry. We saw rollovers and trucks with major damage and it was a ton of fun. We enjoyed the speedster racing/obstacle course and the ATV racing. It was fun to see the truck drivers in different elements.
The overall winner for the Sunday afternoon show was my daughter’s pick, Blue Thunder driven the 18 year old rookie Tyler Menninga. If you missed the Portland Monster Jam worry not, there are more shows to come, including the World Finals in Las Vegas next month.
