Create, Explore, Story Tell, and Connect with BabbaBox

I love doing crafts, I just like making things.  I have a hard time thinking of my own crafts so I find that craft kits work best for me.  My daughter is also a fan of doing crafts.  I like that she likes doing/making things rather than sitting and watching TV all the time.
Holiday 43
Subscription boxes are hot items right now.  There are subscriptions for cosmetics, Fishing Tackle, Socks, Knitting, and even Food.  Now there is the subscription box that encourages creativity in our little ones!  BabbaCo has developed the BabbaBox, an exciting subscription box geared towards children ages 3-6, that feature crafts and other fun things to do together with your child(ren).

Each monthly BabbaBox contains BabbaCo’s four main components:

CREATE: Each box contains 2 to 3 projects kids do with their hands.

EXPLORE: Each delivery contains a theme-based product that engages your child with the world & nature.

STORY TELL: Includes a book that stimulate your kids’ imaginations.

CONNECT: Interactive learning with prepaid downloads approved by BabbaCo experts.

Our BabbaBox had a Sun, Moon, & Stars theme.  It contained a Make your own moon paper-mache kit and constellation of the stars picture and frame kit to create fun themed crafts. There were a pair of child sized folding binoculars to explore the cycle of the moon.  The box also contained a cute book titled Twinkle Star Of The Week for us to read during story time and we can even learn to play “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star: on a digital piano.

My daughter wanted to start in on the crafts as soon as we opened the box but I knew that she had an upcoming surgery that would have her home and out of school for a few days so I stashed it to save for when she was in recovery mode and getting bored with watching TV and eating Popsicles.

We decided to take it easy at first and do a little reading.  We snuggled up on the couch together and read the cute and fun book.  Bean loved that all the stars had bodies and wore different outfits, she thought it was super funny they were star heads.

She seems to be bouncing back to her usual self rather quickly so we will start creating from our BabbaBox first thing in the morning.

The crafts look like they will be great fun for hours as each takes some time to complete fully.

This is a nice feature,  we can work on a craft for a bit, take a break and go back to it later.  Great idea for keeping interest and excitement in the project (3 year old attention span is not the longest!)

We were hoping for a little sun today to complete our Star picture but that was not in the cards so while watching the Polar Express (for the 15th time in two weeks), we started our paper-mache moon.

We did not have any newspapers on hand so we covered the table in wrapping paper (seem to have an abundance of that this time of year!) and organized our work area.

We made our glue mixture, she liked pouring out the glue and most of it even made it into the bowl so bonus!  Then we tore up the sheets of paper and started placing the first layer on to our balloon.

By the time we were done, we were both pretty stick but we had a ton of fun.  We put our moon aside for tomorrow to work on the second layer.
